utf8str is a library of C functions for manipulating strings encoded in the UTF-8 format. It provides replacement functions for the normal C language string library functions. For example C language strcpy function has as an analogue in utf8str, the utf8cpy function. utf8cpy differs from strcpy in that it copies only whole, properly encoded Unicode characters.

Registration is required by the conditions on redistribution. The purpose of the registration is to provide a mechanism to inform users of changes to utf8str to correct security issues.
